May School Closure Update
We hope everyone is doing well and making the best of this situation. We wanted to send a few details regarding May Distance Learning. The plan for May will be very similar to April. 4th-8th grade will push things out electronically and we will also provide paper copies for those interested as well as uploading those to our website if you want to print yourself. K-3 will provide paper assignments. Paper copies of assignments may be picked up at the school from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 5th. At this time, we will also have boxes out for students to turn in any completed paperwork. Please make sure your name is on every sheet of paper in case papers become separated.
Also, from 11:00-2:00, we will be available to fix any chromebook issues students may be having. Any student in grades 4-8 having any issues with their chromebook or charger is encouraged to stop by during that time.
From 10:00-1:00, Nurse Todd will be available for any parent needing to pick up medication from the health room.
We realize these times and situations are not ideal. However, we have been very impressed and grateful for the perseverance, patience, and grace shown by students, families and staff. I truly believe we will come out better, stronger, and smarter after all of this. We will send another update this weekend with additional updates and information. Thanks!

We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. We are meeting virtually as a staff this morning to discuss distance learning for May. We will push out info on Wednesday about work drop off and pick up times for Tuesday, May 5th. That info will be released on Wednesday. The plan for May will look very similar to April.
Also, another reminder: Mrs. Ide is helping to put together a video of old photos for our outgoing eighth graders. If you have old or current photos of 8th graders, send it to ideloriw@gmail.com.
Ms. Sawyer's class incorporated their work with fractions into a sugar cookie recipe. Then they made them over Google Meet. They look yummy!
As you all may have heard by now, school will be closed for the remainder of the school year. While we are sad about this and miss students tremendously, we agree this is the best decision for the safety and health of students, staff, and parents. We are currently working on plans for May and will communicate those out to families by Wednesday, April 29th. For now continuing working as normal and we will provide more detailed updates along with information about work pick up and dropping off of completed work in an update next week. Thank you for your continued patience and support. We know these are trying times for everyone and I continue to be impressed and thankful for our school community. Como ya habrán escuchado, la escuela permanecerá cerrada por el resto del año escolar. Si bien estamos tristes por esto y extrañamos muchísimo a los estudiantes, estamos de acuerdo en que esta es la mejor decisión para la seguridad y la salud de los estudiantes, el personal y los padres. Actualmente estamos trabajando en planes para mayo y los comunicaremos a las familias antes del miércoles 29 de abril. Por ahora, continuamos trabajando normalmente y proporcionaremos actualizaciones más detalladas junto con información sobre la recogida y entrega del trabajo completado en una actualización la próxima semana. Gracias por su continua paciencia y apoyo. Sabemos que estos son tiempos difíciles para todos y sigo impresionado y agradecido por nuestra comunidad escolar.
