Here are upcoming reminders for the week ahead.
-All students will continue on our current attendance plan for all grades.
-Monday January 25 will begin the 3rd nine weeks. Our elective classes will rotate during this time and students will participate new elective classes.
-Report cards will be mailed to all families on January 28.
- In preparing for next school year, please complete the information below to indicate your intention to return for the 2021 - 2022 school year at Lead Academy. Please include each student in your immediate family who currently attends Lead Academy and siblings of currently enrolled students who are planning to attend. Complete this form no later than Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

Kindergarten completed a day of service. They read books about Dr Martin Luther King Jr, did projects to help the school and discussed what service meant to each of them. Thanks for serving well kindergarten!

-We have made a change to our policy concerning virtual and in-person request. If you have chosen to be virtual this year regardless of the attendance plan, and you are interested in in-person instruction, please fill out this form to be placed on a waiting list for a possible 1 to 1 switch. I hope everyone had a safe and restful break. Here are some important updates to our reopening plan for our return on Monday Jan. 4.
-Grades K-2 will be in-person and grades 3-8 will be fully virtual.
*Grades K-2 in-person students will attend on a 5 day a week schedule, including Wednesdays beginning this week.*

We were informed today that a student tested positive for COVID 19 in 1st grade. Out of an abundance of caution, 1st grade students will be quarantined for 14 days. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to keep all stakeholders safe. We continue to encourage all parents to temperature scan and monitor students closely for any sign of potential illness. Students should remain at home if they are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, new or persistent cough, headache, loss of taste or smell, fatigue and/or stomach issues (diarrhea). • Reopening Plan
o Our reopening plan will continue this week as it currently stands. Grades K-2 in-person and 3-8 fully virtual
• Progress reports
o Progress reports will be mailed to all families on Friday December, 18
• Immunizations
o If we are missing your child’s immunization records, a notice will be sent along with your progress reports. South Carolina state law requires a valid SC Certificate of Immunization or valid exemption. Children without a valid certificate or exemption will not be allowed to attend school. This is required of all virtual and in-person students.
• Survey
o This week, there will be a parent survey sent to all families to gain feedback on schooling during COVID.
We know how much your students love our book fairs. We're doing something a little bit different this year. Shop local at our book fair with M Judson in downtown Greenville. Tell them you are with Lead Academy and a portion of your sale will support our school!

Today kicks off our Book Fair at M. Judson Booksellers in downtown Greenville. This fair will run through Sunday, December 12th. They have a wonderful selection of books for all ages and a portion of sales will benefit our school!

I hope everyone had a restful break. Moving into next week 11/30, our K-2 students will move back to plan 4 which is 4 days of week in-person. Grades 3-8 will remain on plan 0 fully virtual. Please let me know if you have any questions at cubaker@myleadacademy.com

We have some great news to announce. Lead has officially purchased the land next door to our current building. This land will be the future home of a new gym with other details to come. We don’t have a timeline on this project yet but have begun the planning phases. Big things to come. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

We hope everyone enjoys the next few days off from the pace of school! Here's a look back to our second graders and their fossil exploration a couple of weeks ago. We're thankful they were able to be in the building learning and exploring.




Monday 11/23 and Tuesday 11/24 will be fully virtual days for all students K-8. There will be no in-person instruction on these two days.
