MUSIC/CHORUS

The Lead Academy Choral Program is led by Mr. Xavier Moses and is comprised of three groups of varying levels. Students may begin their choral journey in 4th grade. 4th/5th Grade Chorus is offered during the Fall and Spring semesters, and covers the fundamentals of singing in an ensemble as well as beginner musical notation reading.

Concert Choir is offered to 6th - 8th grade students. The members of this group range from beginning singers to those with some experience in choir singing. Concert Choir students also learn the basic elements of music reading and ensemble singing, but do so at a slightly accelerated rate. Concert Choir is offered during the Spring semester.

Honor Choir is comprised of 6th - 8th grade students and is the most advanced choral ensemble at Lead Academy. Students must complete one semester of either Concert Choir or 4th/5th Grade Chorus, as a prerequisite to being considered for Honor Choir. Members of this elite group travel to state competitions, as well as representing our school and choral program with performances throughout the community.

Honor Choir Accomplishments include:
Superior rating at Carowinds Music Festival - 2018
Excellent rating at South Carolina Choral Performance Assessment - 2018

In addition, Bucket Drumming is offered to 6th - 8th grade students during the Spring semester.
